John McDonald Productions was incorporated in 1980 when John McDonald
and his wife, Lydia, wrote and produced the hard-hitting ABC Prime Time Special, The Youngest Victim
. They both won Emmies for their work, and John also received a Best Director Emmy.
John received a degree from the famed USC Film School, where he made Cotton Eyed Joe, a
globally-recognized film that is still shown in undergraduate classes. He works in both documentary and dramatic formats
as well as in commercials and is a member of the Directors Guild of America.
The company has continued to produce award-winning projects for industry, education and television as a full-service
provider, taking a job from creative development through post-production.
